ISFMI - Winner of the Conservation X Labs Fire Grand Challenge

We are thrilled to announce that ISFMI was selected as one of the winning teams in the prestigious Conservation X Labs Fire Grand Challenge.

This global competition, launched in 2025, sought to unearth and scale the next wave of innovative tools for wildfire mitigation and recovery. Our success in this challenge—which attracted 92 technical and over 50 community-based applications from 20 countries—validates the critical role of our work in incentivizing savanna fire management globally.

A key achievement of our project was to demonstrate the potential of the Australian methodology, Emissions Reduction through Traditional Fire Management, in Central America through field testing with a partner in Chiapas, Mexico: BIOMASA A.C.
